WELCA Gathers Health Kits
St Andrew's Women of the ELCA recently sponsored an ingathering of health kits to which many, many church members responded. Fifty-one complete kits were delivered to the collection site!! Lutheran World Relief's supply of health kits remains critically low as requests for assistance across the world increase. As humanitarian crises escalate, requests for LWF health kits are outpacing the inflow of health kit donations from groups and congregations throughout the United States. LWF needs more than 56,000 health kits to fill planned shipments to Azerbaijan, Mauritania, Tanzania, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Palestine (Gaza)Our people have responded. God's work; our hands!

Mary Louise Sitton featuredas guest preacher for Women's Sunday November 8th at St Andrew's. Mary Louise went to weekday church school at St Andrew's, graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne and served as our summer organist before completing her Seminary studies. All of that made her glad to have her ordination service at St. Andrew's. She's been back often to visit, since she's a Hickory native, but this was our chance to welcome her to our pulpit. Mary Louise is the Reverend Sitton at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Mt Ulla, NC. A reception to greet her followed the service. |
